List of Bitcoin Stocks

Bitcoin is the investing world’s most speculative and volatile asset, a cryptocurrency not based on real, intrinsic value but rather solely by the hope of what it could be worth.

Some investors are hoping to either buy Bitcoin outright and other investors perhaps wiser, to invest in companies that have exposure to the cryptocurrency. What is meant by Bitcoin stocks are companies, investment funds, and others that possess or trade in Bitcoin.

There are large investment funds such as the ARK investment fund and MicroStrategy that own vast amounts of Bitcoin. Some of these companies have done well the last 12 months, and with forecasts for big growth in Bitcoin price in the next 3 months, investors are hungry for the best of them.

The forecast for Bitcoin price is up up and away. Some experts believe Bitcoin could become a global currency and that we’ll see more companies accepting bitcoin for payment. If fiat currencies like the US dollar should fail or a recession should come about, some feel Bitcoin is a recession proof investment.

The fact that some companies either own the cryptocurrency or are exposed to it, makes their stock even more desirable. Consider investors in Tesla, which had invested heavily in Bitcoin, and gained significantly from the BTC price rise. And Tesla still owns a large amount of Bitcoin.

Yahoo Finance reports that Microstrategy, Tesla, Galaxy Digital, Voyager Digital, Square and Marathon Digital own large numbers of Bitcoin. That might be what investors want in a Bitcoin stock.

Many individual investors have few other options to gain from Bitcoin’s price rise than through these companies. It’s caused the stock price of many of them to soar.

There is no Bitcoin ETF at present so investors have to look into other options to benefit from any potential growth of Bitcoin price.

What is the price of Bitcoin right now? Bitcoin rose to $47,354 last week which is up more than 50% since July.
Barron’s reports on a study conducted by Goldman Sachs who found a list of stocks with exposure to Bitcoin. Their prices correlated well to the up and volatility of the Bitcoin price.

Companies that possess Bitcoin or might use it in transactions could trade at a premium over the value of their earnings. That’s one more reason many investors are hoping to benefit from Bitcoin’s big prices rises, rather than buying directly on exchange platforms such as Coinbase.

So the quest is to find stocks that have some type of solid profitable exposure or investment in Bitcoin. You’ll need to research the nature of their connection to BTC and find find stocks that have even greater ROI on their own.
