Searchlove in San Diego
It seems like a long time ago that search engine conferences were held. I attended a few big conferences in Chicago and Denver and appreciate those great experiences.
Now with the Corona Virus pandemic shutdown and social distancing, it looks like the entire conference industry is going to take a hiatus. We can dream of trips to San Francisco, Mountainview, Boston, Dallas, and San Diego.
If you’ve ever needed a reason to go to San Diego, well, you’ve got one more now. It’s Searchlove! It will be held at the beautiful Paradise Point Resort this coming 26th & 27th of March, 2018. Paradise Point Resort and Spa is very close to Mission Beach, Seaworld, the San Diego Zoo, La Jolla Cove, and Seaport Village.

Back to San Diego, this is one event that could really perk up and reignite your interest in search engine optimization and content strategy in 2018. Stats show SEO is growing in budget and although Google has made it more difficult to rank and get traffic, it is a smart choice to continue pursuing visibility in Google SERPs. Google organic serps still drive the lion’s share of web traffic.
Top speakers at this convention include Rand Fishkin of Moz (the King of SEO videos and 10X content), Oli Gardner of Unbounce, Wil Reynolds of Seer Interactive (first guy to use the term keyword reputation), Justin Cutroni of Google (Analytics guy I studied with in Boston), Larry Kim of Mobile Monkey Chatbots, Will Critchlow of Distilled, Marcus Tober of Search Metrics, among other SEO, analytics and content people.

I’m a little disappointed that someone from the artificial intelligence marketing community isn’t attending. The impact of artificial intelligence is a dominant topic going into 2018. Google is fully committed to developing RankBrain further.
And once it is, RankBrain won’t be just the master controller, it will start to make content, authority, and engagement valuations on its own. That has to make it one of the most important topics for any SEO Company or marketing agency too.
There doesn’t appear to be much coverage on visitor engagement yet it won’t be long before it’s covered in depth.
